WELCOME TO ST. BENEDICT MONASTERY!

We are a small community of Sisters of St. Benedict Monastery in Canyon, Texas. We have responded
to a call to the monastic life, living according to the Rule of St. Benedict. For over 1500 years the Rule
has served as a guide for ordinary men and women who want to live a full and intense gospel life.

We are committed to:

• making the monastic life our primary ministry
  
• showing reverence for each sister and her unique gifts
  
• praising God seven times daily in common and celebrating the Eucharist daily, whenever possible.
  
• Growing spiritually through daily practice of lectio, contemplation, spiritual reading and charity.

Our monastery is situated on a branch of the Palo Duro Canyon, and
our monastic life is beautifully enriched with wildlife and views that the
Texas Panhandle provides.
